1 1/2 lbs. ground beef (80/20 or 85/15 recommended)
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup plain breadcrumbs (or Panko)
1/3 cup milk (any kind: whole, 2%, skim)
1/3 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
1-2 tbsp. Traditional Hamburger Seasoning or to taste

For the Ketchup Glaze:

1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or white vinegar)

Directions

Preheat Oven & Prep Pan: Preheat your oven to 350∘F (175∘C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Combine Meatloaf Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the ground beef, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, milk, finely chopped onion, and minced garlic. Sprinkle your Traditional hamburger seasoning evenly over the ingredients.

Mixing Tip: Use your hands to gently mix all the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf tough.
Form the Loaf: Press the meat mixture evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
Prepare the Ketchup Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the 1/2 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
Apply Glaze & Bake: Evenly spread the prepared ketchup glaze over the top of the formed meatloaf in the pan. Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour.
Check for Doneness: After 1 hour, the internal temperature of the meatloaf should reach 160∘F (71∘C) on a meat thermometer. The glaze should be bubbly and caramelized.
Rest and Serve: Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moister and more flavorful meatloaf.
