Galangal also known as: Galanga, Kah, Laos Root and Garingal, is a useful ingredient in various Southeast Asian dishes. The galangals are ginger-like spices, currently cultivated in all South East Asian countries, India, Bangladesh, China and Surinam. Galangal is frequently used in curries and in fish and shellfish recipes often with garlic, ginger, chili and lemon.
I was originally sent root chips instead of the powdered root by mistake. I sent an email and received an apologetic reply stating that the wrong bottle was pulled and the correct item would be out that same day.
The Galangal seems to be of very good quality, and the taste in Thai, Cambodian, and Indian cuisine is really unmistakable.
