Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • zest from 1 orange
  • 2 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 tsp OTSS Gingerbread Spice

Directions

Step 1

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

  • In a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar on medium speed until creamy.

Step 3

  • Beat in the egg until fluffy, then mix in orange zest and corn syrup until combined.

Step 4

  • On low speed, add dry ingredients slowly, adding 1 tsp of cold water if the dough is too dry, until well-combined.

Step 5

  • Form the dough into 2 Tbsp. balls, cover, and chill for 30 minutes.

Step 6

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cookie tops are cracked, then cool for 1-2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
