The Perfect Grilled Chicken Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients

  • One pound of chicken breast- four small
  • Four sesame seed buns
  • ½ cup mustard or mayonnaise
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and onion (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of maple sugar
  • ½ teaspoon bacon salt and
  • ½ teaspoon lemon pepper

Directions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to ½" thickness.
  2. Combine all marinade ingredients in a bowl or freezer bag. Add chicken and toss well to combine. Marinate for 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours).
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Place chicken on the grill for 5-6 minutes per side until no pink remains and the chicken reaches 165°F.
  5. While the chicken is grilling, brush buns with olive oil and place them face down on the grill. Lightly toast.
  6. Spread each bun with honey mustard and add lettuce, tomatoes, and onions if desired. Top with chicken and serve.
  7. The best chicken sandwich is simple to make, tender, juicy, flavorful, and topped with fresh goodies! Add crisp bacon, or make it spicy with your favorite sauce toppings. It’s nearly impossible to mess this one up. We love the lightly toasted sesame bun, and the marinade is to die for, with its delicious combo of zesty and sweet.
